In today's highly competitive environment, where research can be easily searched via platforms such as Google Scholar and index systems, a paper containing flaws (even structural, citation or writing errors) is unlikely to be accepted and could permanently impair its authors' reputations. Successfully publishing a thesis involves much more than just having good research, it requires rigorous refinement. To convert your thesis into a publication you must: 1. Develop a publication strategy: it is important to clarify what your ultimate aim is (i.e. Journal articles, books, digital archives visibility). The outcome of this strategic plan will determine how you need to restructure your thesis in order to publish it. 2. Convert thesis to published article: typically, articles are shorter than theses. Therefore, you have to break down your work into a series of papers, where most of the thesis's irrelevant literature reviews sections need to be removed and original contributions clearly underlined. 3. Reinforce your literature review and research methodology: using an up-to-date reference list, only creditable sources and a reliable research methodology significantly enhance your manuscript's chances of acceptance and also allow it to successfully overcome the scrutiny of peer review. 4. Adhere strictly to academic structure: all publications have a standard layout of a manuscript which includes, title page, abstract, introduction, methodology, results, discussion and references. Most Journals have clear guidelines about structure that researchers must meticulously follow. 5. Ensure accuracy and originality: writers must be careful about writing clarity, consistency of reference and absence of any form of plagiarism. Tools such as Grammarly and Zotero may help, but nothing can substitute your own careful checking of sources and writing. 6. Choose an appropriate journal: the selection of a journal must consider several factors including the relevance of the scope and impact factor, the submission procedure, the acceptance rate and the average time for the manuscript review process. Once the thesis is accepted by a journal, authors must be prepared to consider reviewers' comments and suggestions. Ultimately, the publication of a thesis should be seen not as an end, but as the first of many research publication that could, potentially, enrich the academic discourse in their fields.
