Preparing a thesis for publication-the ideal way of submission.

Submission of thesis is one important achievement. But it’s the properly published work-free from errors-that provides a real meaning to a research. While the individual research may not be faulty, a research doesn't come of age until it is published without mistakes. A number of researches get discarded for reasons such as the incorrect format, inappropriate choice of the journal, non-observance of ethics, non-adherence of thesubmission guidelines, etc.

In the current world, the importance of the research lies in its ease of access as well as the visibility provided to researchers through resources like Google Scholar. Therefore, a slight error in the submitted work could impact its acceptability, credibility and lifetime significance. So, preparation-rather than merely submission-is vital in making a research publishable in the right format.

The journey to a publishable research began with the formulation of an appropriate plan-specifically with a plan of publication. A researcher must be clear as to what they wish to do-publish in a journal, write a book or simply increase its visibility online. If the objective is recognition or career enhancement, it will depend on how the thesis needs to be transformed and which platform is the right one to approach.

Furthermore, transformation of the thesis into a publishable manuscript must occur. The thesis generally has an in-depth description and lengthy narrative. Journals require brief and targeted articles; and the breaking up of the thesis into two or three articles, pruning of redundancy and focus on the results and conclusions are significant stages. Many studies do not find an appropriate venue, simply because the thesis is submitted to a journal as it is.

The relevance of the research must also be ensured-updating references, validating sources and adherence to academic trends of the time is essential. The research methodology has to be precise in defining the scope of the study. Clarity regarding the research design, sampling, and reproducibility enhances the validity of the study.

The appropriate structure,-namely a title, an abstract, an introduction, the methodology, the results, a discussion, and a reference list-is equally crucial. The title and abstract play a major role in enhancing visibility. A concise title and a well-written abstract, with the inclusion of suitable keywords, helps a publication be accessed by more researchers and thus increasing its citation.

Originality is an imperative consideration; it can be maintained through citation, paraphrasing, and usage of research tools in addition to originality of thoughts and ideas. Consistency of the reference format is critical and clear academic language adds to the quality of a manuscript.

Before submission, a thorough editing and proofreading process-encompassing the entire format-must be implemented. Choosing the journal to submit to and strictly following the required guidelines for submission enhance the chance of getting a publication. Moreover, a timely and constructive response to the editor’s and reviewer's comments, would ensure successful submission.

Finally, persistence always pays; although rejection is often inevitable in publishing, persistent revision of a study-considering all criticism received-may still be beneficial. Combined with proper preparation, clarity and research ethics, the entire work may become a successful research publication.
